Re: Want to rant about a news story!!!

Well, hubby has been a mature student for the last 6 years and we have never cancelled Christmas. We are religious so it is important to us, but it also a great time to have fun and be silly with the kids (ours are 3 yrs and 11 wks). Things (non-religious) that we do are: * Have an evening touring o...

Can I put this on my compost ?

We grew a ton of rocket in a tray, now used up is it ok to put the contents of the tray in the compost bin ??
Is there anything we definitely shouldn't be putting in there ??

Re: Vacant plots in your area

There are a few plots available where my mum has her allotment in Salford Priors, Nr Evesham, Worcs.
They may need a bit of love as its a fairly new site. Not cheap though compared to some think it works out at around £1 a week.

Re: should plot holders have more than 1 plot?

There are some allotments locally that had such a slow take up, one family we know has 10 plots ! They keep chickens and ducks on some, as do some other folk down there. There are still some vacant which we are trying to take up (we had to wait til hubby finished his MSC as didn't have the time befo...

and I have no idea who the book would appeal to, not people on a low budget, or people who want to learn to cook.

Delia will have to survive without my money lining her pocket LOL

I'm 25 and I remember we used to have some sort of nice meat on a sunday , but less during the week. But our food budget must have taken up a lot of our weekly overall budget, maybe 30% as having good wholesome tasty food was really important to my parents (esp my dad who was born in 1940 in Nazi oc...

we just put it in a normal pan with a bit of butter then if we're doing it just for fun, ds and me will take the lid off the pan and race round with collanders trying to catch it all - so much fun for pennies LOL

Strawberries/Raspberries/Blackberries from seed

I just wondered really if it was worth doing, if anyone had grown them from seed and how to go about it really.

Thanks a bunch

(desperate to turn myself into a gardener this year LOL)

I hate another seasonal celebration going down the commercial pan. As it happens we are a religious family so attend Church on Easter Sunday (well every sunday actually). We usually have lamb for dinner. We do a little egg hunt on the saturday with one small bag of mini choc eggs or make some with a...

starwberry/herb planter - buy or make ??

Ok.
