Years ago we bought a mongrel puppy for £50 quid (and thought we'd been ripped off, but she wasn't being kept in conditions we approved of and it was part with the money or leave her there) A year later she barked late at night and alerted us to a fire in the kitchen, which we were able to extinguish before the fire brigade arrived. She saved us a fortune in what might have been damaged and probably saved our lives.

Good dog!

If 50 quid is between $75-$100 US, then lets see . . . the mortgage payment on my land is $75 a week, does that count?

LoL sounds great, so why not... but if you had to give it up after a week, would it have been money well spent?

Well the best 15 quid was to register selfsufficientish.com as a domain name. Then the 11 quid Dave and I spent between us to get the coach to London to meet up with our publishers. So that makes 26 quid er the money I spent getting Emma drunk when we first met  Would be a very different life if I had not have spent money on any of them things.
