Hello from Australia.

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hello from Australia.

Post: # 125989Post Decentralist »

Hello everyone.

I'm a committed decentralist, distributist and human scale enthusiastcurrently residing in Sydney Australia but originally from the UK. I'm very much into self-sufficieny and homesteading although I'm currently still at uni and living with my parents( ) and they don't have much room. But when I finish uni I hope to go back to Britain and homestead in the Westcountry somewhere as soon as possible while hopefully being able to write and advocate decentralism and self-sufficiency. I really like this site and have read it for several years now but I only just decided to join.

As you may have guessed I'm very much into decentralist politics as well as self-sufficiency and I'm wondering if anyone else here is too?

Here is my blog on all things decentralist from politics and economics to homebrewing(someday soon anyway.) if anyone is interested.

I've already linked to this site.

I hope to enjoy myself here and find like minded people.

PS: I'm a proud Wessex regionalist and Dorestshireman if anyone else is from that part of the UK.
But there's more than just solving the how-to problems. I've often said that if we're going to have a real rural renaissance, I'd just take the solving of the how-to problems for granted. The first thing I'd provide would be festivals.

Hiya, and welcome to the site!

Can't say I'm very much into the politics of decentralisation (yet?), but I do tend to see red if I hear the word "centralisation" of anything anywhere... So in principle, I think, yes - I agree with you. And I think with rising oil prices a lot of decentralisation will happen automatically.

Hello from Scotland - I lived a couple of months in Tassie - and they are v. pro decentralisation there too - not surprisingly. :hello1:

And that has made all the difference.
