Autumn Smoothie

Autumn is a great time to pick apples, blackberries, the last of the plums and nuts. This recipe combines all of them together in one delicious smoothie. It is a quite complicated process if you want to make all the ingredients from scratch but the reward at the end is defiantly worth it. It’s worth making a batch before you go out drinking as it is an excellent hangover cure.

Ingredients

200ml Hazelnut milk – see recipe
100ml Apple juice – see recipe
250g Blackberries, Plums or any other soft sweet fruit – bilberries, blueberries, grapes etc

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender or liquidizer and blend until all the fruit is broken down.
  2. Pass the resulting liquid through a sieve – you’ll end up with all the skins and hard pips in the top of the sieve, you can either compost this, eat it (bit crunchy but pleasant enough) or add to your muesli bowl for a little extra fruity crunch.
  3. If you can resist drinking it straight away then pop it in the fridge, as it is delicious served chilled.
