Re: State funeral for Thatcher?

For a wonderful minute I thought this meant she was dead. Yes, lets give her a state funeral, preferably with an open coffin that we can file past then; a) we can be certain she's really dead and b) know where she's buried so can visit at a later date.....wearing tap-shoes  You & Me bo...

Re: People's reactions to what we see as "normal"

Hi All, This is a great thread :cooldude: I've never driven (and raised three kids without a car - no one could understand that one.) I've always managed to get me, my partner & them wherever we've wanted to be. on time & happy. Had more than one person say to me " Why bother you can bu...

Re: People say the strangest things

When I worked in a wholefood shop I had a guy come in and say he "didn't like all this organic food because it was grown in far too much manure for his liking" Hamster - did you know that the fabulous designer kaffe Fasset was taught to knit by a woman sitting opposite him on a train? He'd...

Re: Veg Box Thief

Sorry this happened to you. I don't think you're being silly I'd feel the same. Years back when my house was burgled it wasn't so much that stuff had been taken, it was more the thought that someone had just thought that whoever did it just thought it was ok to go into my house & take it that go...

Re: Second batch of jam this year so far!

So far have only ever done my yearly frenzy of seville orange marmalade. I've not tackled other jam yet but have been given a big bag of frozen damsons from lovely neighbours who are downsizing their freezer. So when I've put up some damson gin I might use the rest to give the jam a go - after bramb...

Big congrats citizentwiglet :sunny:
I'm really happy for you.
Although they are all grown up now I remember loving raising my three sons. I was and still am so proud of them.
Seems like a long time & yet no time since they were babies.

Re: What have you changed lately?

Great thread! :salute: Hmmm let's think... 1. Stopped buying too much food. 2. Started spending accumulated hours earned on local exchange scheme on bags of nettles, cleavers, horsetail & ladies mantle to be dried & used in soap/ skincare stuff/ herbal medicine. 3. Encourage people on exchan...

Funny you should say that - I'm having real bother with chapped lips right now - so guess whats going on them! The one I bought is most certainly solid in a bottle with a gold coloured top. The make is "Pride" and states that it is 100% pure coconut oil. I just asked Chris to smell it - a...

Hi Milims, I use the solid stuff in soap & cream making but it also makes an excellent deep conditioning treatment for your hair. An Indian lady told me how to do this and if my hair needs a boost I do the following. Apply a small amount to my hair by warming it in my hands first - you don't nee...
